Environmental protection has long been a hallmark of my administration. We have undertaken many innovative efforts to protect and preserve the environment and lower County’s energy cost. Our competitive bidding of natural gas purchases; the environmentally friendly road maintenance of our green road program; and the switchover to hybrid electric transit buses for the Transport of Rockland (TOR) fleet are recent examples of Rockland County’s local and regional efforts to ensure the preservation of our environment for our children and generations to come.
The "Renew Rockland" website is the latest of our Green effort. Throughout this website you will find valuable resources and helpful tools that will assist you with making numerous green improvements to your home or business. This website will also provide a resource for County residents, businesses and organizations to access the growing available pool of assistance and incentive funding to pay for energy efficiency and conservation projects.
We will also be highlighting innovative conservation and renewable projects around the County on the website. May these projects serve as examples to motivate members of our community to put into action their own project to lower energy cost and minimize our impact on the environment.
