NYSERDA
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a public
benefit corporation created in 1975. Today, NYSERDA’s aim is to help New York meet its energy goals: reducing energy consumption, promoting
the use of renewable energy sources, and protecting the environment.
Currently, NYSERDA is primarily funded by state rate payers through the System Benefits Charge (SBC) included in the bills of electricity customers of investor-owned utilities operating within New York State. These SBC funds were allocated towards energy-efficiency programs, research and development initiatives, low-income energy programs, and environmental disclosure activities. NYSERDA also administers State level programs funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE). Visit NYSERDA Website

large-scale energy efficiency projects. Performance-based incentives are typically higher than pre-qualified incentives but are based on an engineering
analysis and are potentially subject to measurement and verification (M&V) requirements. The elibile categories for performance based incentives are
Electric Incentives,
Industrial and Process Efficiency Incentives,
Gas Incentives,
Demand-Response Incentives, and
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Incentives.
New Construction Program
- • The New Construction Program (NCP) offers assistance to use energy-efficiency measures into the design, construction, and operation of new
and substantially renovated buildings. These measures are designed to save energy through reduced electric demand, and therefore reduce building operating costs.
